Target customers
All customers sending EMS Premium shipments to Thailand.
Customs policy change
- Effective date: January 1, 2026 (Thursday)
- Previous policy: Goods valued at 1,500 THB or below were exempt from duties.
- New policy: All goods, even valued at 1 THB, are subject to import duties and VAT.
- International postal items: Items valued over 1 THB and up to 1,500 THB (approx. KRW 69,000) are now subject to import duties; duties are borne by the recipient.
Customs duties & VAT
- Customs duty: 10–30% of product value depending on item category
- VAT: 7% of (product value + customs duty)
- Example: For a product worth USD 100 → Customs Duty: USD 30, VAT: USD 9.1
Mandatory information for shipment entry
To ensure smooth customs clearance, the following details must be entered when sending EMS Premium items to Thailand:
- Sender details: Full name and address
- Recipient details: Full name and address
- Contact: Recipient’s phone number and email address
- Contents: Total number of items and total weight
- Nature of goods: Commercial item or gift
- Postal charges: Include applicable postage
