U.S. Shipping Notice: Korea Post Services Paused Starting August 2025

Date: August 22, 2025 | Source: shiptoyou.kr

Why Is This Happening?

Due to new customs regulations in the United States, all goods entering the country will be subject to mandatory declarations and a 15% import duty starting August 29, 2025. Korea Post has announced a temporary suspension of standard shipping services to the U.S. as it updates its systems to comply.

Which Services Are Affected?

  • EMS: Suspended from August 26
  • Airmail: Suspended from August 25
  • Sea Mail: Already suspended

Note: Document-only shipments may still be accepted.

What Can You Use Instead?

EMS Premium remains available and is fully compliant with the new customs requirements. This service is handled via UPS and supports parcel-level declarations, making it a reliable alternative for shipping to the U.S.

When Will Regular Services Resume?

There is currently no confirmed timeline for resumption. Korea Post is working to implement the necessary changes, and we’ll share updates as soon as they become available.
